Welcome to L.E.A.R.N.!
We believe parents know their children
best and are perfectly equipped to help their children...which
is why all L.E.A.R.N. classes and activities are family
functions. Classes will have a lead teacher or two, but all
parents are encouraged and expected to participate with their
child.
Most classes and activities will be held at
First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro.
Other fun and sporting activities will be held at various
locations throughout Rutherford County and Middle Tennessee.
Many of our sporting activities are done in conjunction with
the Special Olympics Sports Programs in TN.
We will offer many social activities such as parties
and dances, game nights, movie nights, and camping. We will
also have many athletic and outdoor activities such as
basketball, swimming, football, fishing, golfing, bowling,
hiking, bocce ball, and many others. Suggestions for classes
and activities are always welcome. We are always looking for
volunteers, coach's and teachers willing to help our children
and adults with special needs. If you would like to participate

We
welcome your participation in our activities, events, and/or
sports programs. Please remember that at least one parent or
caregiver must accompany their child/adult to these programs.
LEARN is solely a voluntary network of parents with children of
Special Needs working together organizing social and learning
activities for their families and children. As such, LEARN
assumes no responsibility for the risks associated with any
activity promoted or offered through the network. Furthermore
all Parents, youth and adults who voluntarily participate
assume all risks associated with any and all activities offered
or promoted and further agree to indemnify and hold harmless
any parent, youth or adult with special needs who have
voluntarily agreed to participate in such activities.
Our sports league is open to players, both male and female, ages 8 and up. We currently have athletes participating in the Special Olympics Swimming, Golf, Bocce Ball, Flag Football and Basketball with other competitive programs soon to join the lineup. Come out and join us and have some fun!
Games are structured to allow all players to be involved as they are able. Traditional rules are modified and the focus is always on having fun while learning the game.

100% of all donations LEARN receives go directly towards the programs and services provided giving it a 100% Program Efficiency Rating for a nonprofit organization. There are no management or salary fees associated with the organization. L.E.A.R.N. receives no funds from the government, which makes our fundraising efforts crucial to the organization’s success.
The success of the L.E.A.R.N. group largely depends on the contributions made by our supporters and volunteers.
